Five Interesting Things About Ghanaian Nurses
Written by Prince Assandoh-Mensah on August 23, 2020
Ghana is an interesting place to be and one group of people you need to encounter when you find yourself in the country is their nurses. Aside the exceptional care they provide, there are five interesting things you will only find in Ghanaian Nurse.
Tearing of Wound Plaster without Scissors or Sharps
It is quite challenging to tear or get a piece from a wound plaster or adhesives (especially the cotton type) when one is not with scissors or sharps. Nurses across the globe usually carry with them a small pair of scissors to perform this task. Yet that is not the case for Ghanaian nurses. What seems to be a challenge for nurses worldwide is an easy task for nurses here in Ghana. They can get pieces of all sizes of wound plaster with their hand. Amazing! Isn’t it? All you need is to just ask, and it shall be provided… but as to how they do it, I do not know.
- Innovative
Necessity they say is the mother of invention, but I tell you, there is no one group of people on earth that are more innovative than Ghanaian Nurses. Think of a need at the hospital and a nurse will fix you up. No need to worry when you have a Ghanaian nurse beside you.
‘Does the doctor need a medical equipment that hospital don’t have? … the nurse has an alternative.’
‘That hyperactive patient who does not listen to anyone… the Ghanaian nurse got him covered, he will sleep in no time.’
Just think of a need, then call a Ghanaian Nurse to fix you up.
- The Wound Plaster is an Important Tool
I just talked about how innovative Ghanaian nurses are, but one of their secrets is the Wound Plaster. You should never joke with a Ghanaian nurse who has a plaster in hand… it can even be a weapon of mass destruction… (that was just by the way). The number of things they can repair with a wound plaster will shock you.
‘From fixing a broken BP machine, to affixing a notice to a board, to labelling of containers and items to fixing anything you can ever imagine. My greatest moment with a plaster is when I saw that it has been used to fix the spine of a broken door.
- They are fun to be with
There is never a dull moment with a Ghanaian nurse. They really know how to scare the sickness in you with laughter. Ghanaians are interesting people to be with and that does not exclude their nurses. A lot of them always go extra mile to put smiles on the faces of their patient; no matter how critical their sickness is.
Unless you are allergic to fun, you should probably prepare yourself for one, on your next encounter with a Ghanaian nurse.
- Belt
If you will steal anything from a Ghanaian nurse, then I beg you, it should not be her belt. Ghanaian nurses treat their belts with so much love and respect that you will do them a great harm if you take it away from them.
Belts come in different colours, with each representing a rank in nursing. The belt serves as a daily reminder of years of sacrifice, dedication, and hard work.
The next time you meet a Ghanaian nurse, do not only look at her belt but remember to let her know how much you love her.

The matrix measure I slogan Gail Dines discourse with, at a convention in Boston, she moved the audience to tears with her statement of the problems caused nearby porn, and provoked sniggering with her spicy observations roughly pornographers themselves. Activists in the audience were newly inspired, and men at the event – multifarious of whom had never viewed smut as a complication first – queued up afterwards to pawn their support. The scene highlighted Dines’s explosive charisma and the factually that, since the death of Andrea Dworkin, she has risen to that most sensitive and exciting of free roles: the world’s foremost anti-pornography campaigner.

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and
was wondering what all is required to get setup?
I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny?
I’m not very internet savvy so I’m not 100% sure.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Kudos
